The appearance of two comets was taken as a harbinger announcing changes never seen before; and the prophecies were fulfilled, years later strange people came, invading and destroying the ancient Purepecha civilization. These omens could be warned thanks to the wisdom and knowledge possessed by the ancient purepecha, to predict the different events that were approaching. For this purpose they resorted to different means, which will be analyzed in the present work. In addition, the different wisdom, beliefs and superstitions that shaped the purepecha worldview will be documented. Subjects considered taboos such as witchcraft and nagualism will not be excluded.
